Any objective person can see that I am not equating Lincoln and Bush, nor the Civil War with the Iraqi War. What I am observing are the vastly different approaches to the concepts of FAITH, FUNDAMENTALISM, and DEMOCRACY. Bush's attempt to establish democracy in a land with no prior experience with it, is somehow comparable to Lincoln trying to save the Union.?!! How is it different? Let me count the ways. The South knew democracy, they simply chose not to extend it to all people within its territory. Lincoln was not trying to spread democracy to some foreign land. So I think your premise is slighty off target-about the distance from the U.S. to Irag.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
